The FY 2014 Justice Information Sharing (JIS) Solutions Implementation Program is funded under the Edward Byrne Memorial Competitive Grant Program (Byrne Competitive Program), the Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant (JAG) Program, or external transfer from the Program Manager for the Information Sharing Environment (PMISE). It is authorized by the Department of Justice Appropriations Act, 2014, Pub. L. No.113-76. BJA funds will support the implementation of justice information sharing solutions that address critical challenges currently faced by state, local, and tribal criminal justice agencies. The JIS solutions implemented under this program will support criminal justice policies, practices, and programs that are data-driven and evidence-based.

The Maryland Governor's Office of Crime Control & Prevention will enhance the ability of the Maryland Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services and local jails to share inmate and institutional records across agency and jurisdictional boundaries. The goal is to enable Maryland to link inmate data systems from all state operated correctional facilities and local jails. CA/NCF
