Enhancement of the Virgin Islands Medical Examiner's Office and Forensic Services

This application is being submitted by the United States Virgin Islands Department of Justice (VIDOJ) to receive funding under the National Institute of Justice (NIJ) 2016 Paul Coverdell Forensic Science Improvements Grant Program. With assistance from previous grant awards, the USVI has been able to improve the quality, quantity and timeliness of forensic science services by implementing training and procuring resources needed to support the processing of forensic data. Funding from this grant will continue to assist VIDOJ with the enhancement of forensic services provided by the Medical Examiner’s (MEs) Office for the USVI and to build on past funding initiatives supported by the Paul Coverdell Forensic Science Improvement Grants Program.
