The AG''s Office requests the funding to address the costs associated with battling unprecedented drug epidemic.

The Ohio Attorney General’s Office - Bureau of Criminal Investigation’s Laboratory Division is requesting funding under the FY 2018 Paul Coverdell Forensic Science Improvement Grant to increase the timeliness of forensic science results to law enforcement agencies across the state.

To achieve this goal, BCI will use funding to purchase one gas chromatograph/mass spectrometer (GC/MS) for use at the BCI Springfield location. The instrument requested will enable BCI to reduce backlogs, decrease turnaround time, and still allow BCI to identify the variety of controlled substances submitted to the laboratory.
