The Emergency Federal Law Enforcement Assistance (EFLEA) Program is by invitation only and provided to mitigate the effects of emergency situations in the affected State and local jurisdictions. The state must reimburse these jurisdictions in a manner proportionate to the incident and the areas affected. Administrative funds may not be deducted from this award. No funds provided under this chapter may be used to supplant State or local funds that would otherwise be made available for such purposes. The Texas, Office of the Governor, Criminal Justice Division award will be used to assist with reimbursement for law enforcement activities in response to the school shooting at Santa Fe High School on May 18, 2018. This is one-time funding appropriated specifically for this applicant.
