The Miami Valley Regional Crime Laboratory (Montgomery County) is requesting funding from the FY 2019 DNA Capacity Enhancement for Backlog Reduction Program to aid in forensic DNA testing. Funds from this award will help offset the costs of providing faster and high quality service to law enforcement agencies and the criminal justice system. Funds from this grant will pay for overtime as well as a part-time trained DNA analyst. A part-time analyst is a method to allow for additional work to be completed and afford other benefits for the section. Funds will also be used to purchase statistics software.
