The Contra Costa County Office of the Sheriff Forensic Services Division (FSD) crime laboratory provides forensic services to more than 24 law enforcement agencies within Contra Costa County, servicing over one million residents. The FSD requests funds to support one forensic analyst position and overtime for existing employees to do capacity enhancement-specific activities. Overtime will also be used to process DNA cases. With the aid of support personnel and overtime for staff performing capacity enhancement-specific activities and processing DNA casework samples, the crime laboratory will be able to better meet the needs of the community.
