Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2019, $1,000,000)

To support the Presidential Executive Order on Preventing Violence Against Federal, State, Tribal, and Local Law Enforcement Officers issued on February 9, 2017, the National Officer Safety Initiatives (NOSI) Program for fiscal year (FY) 2019 seeks innovative approaches to augment officer safety in three areas: strengthening officer wellness, establishing partnerships to reduce violent crime and increase officer safety, and enhancing defensive tactics training.
Funding of this project will be under NOSI category two (Partnering to Reduce Violent Crime and Increase Safety). The goal of this category is to select two providers to design and implement a messaging, education, and community engagement program around the theme that driving down violent crime is a shared responsibility between communities and law enforcement that will result in safety for all. Applicants must have the capacity, experience, and resources to design and implement this program on a national scale. CA/NCF
