Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2020, $490,187)
For this BJA project, UMADAOP of Dayton will provide prevention programming for students and trainings for teachers and staff for the three schools in the Richard Allen School District in Year 1 of the grant. In Years 2 and 3, UMADAOP of Dayton intends to expand its services to provide violence prevention programming for students and trainings for teachers and staff in Dayton Public Schools. UMADAOP staff has provided prevention education in several Dayton schools located in impoverished neighborhoods. The overall goal of our project is to reduce violence in schools and in our targeted communities by providing evidence-based violence prevention programs to students and training for teachers that will enable them to identify, assess and intervene with students at risk for violence in the school community.
