This program assists state, local, and tribal jurisdictions in reducing crime and improving the functioning of the criminal justice system, specifically through support for statewide strategic planning and protection of constitutional rights under the Sixth Amendment to the U.S. Constitution. There are three categories in this solicitation:
- Category 1: Statewide Strategic Planning Training and Technical Assistance
- Category 2: Protection of Constitutional Rights Under the Sixth Amendment: Courts-focused Training and Technical Assistance
- Category 3: Protection of Constitutional Rights Under the Sixth Amendment: Defense-focused Training and Technical Assistance
Eligible Applicants:
- Public and State controlled institutions of higher education
- Native American tribal organizations (other than Federally recognized tribal governments)
- Nonprofits having a 501(c)(3) status with the IRS, other than institutions of higher education
- Nonprofits that do not have a 501(c)(3) status with the IRS, other than institutions of higher education
- Private institutions of higher education
- For profit organizations other than small businesses
- Small businesses
