Through this opportunity, the Bureau of Justice Assistance seeks applications for funding to support Justice Counts implementation. Funds will support states to adopt a core set of criminal justice metrics — to collect, analyze, and share data in a timely and consistent manner — so that policymakers have access to actionable data to make policy and budgetary decisions. This program helps state governments improve their capacity to set goals for their criminal justice systems, measure whether they are achieving them, and use results to make data-driven policy decisions and allocate scarce resources effectively.
