With the support of the U.S. Justice Department’s Bureau of Justice Assistance’s (BJA‘s) Strategies for Policing Innovation (SPI), the Boston Police Department (BPD) engaged in a problem-oriented policing enterprise to examine the underlying nature of its homicide clearance problem, develop appropriate responses to improve its investigations of homicides, and evaluate the impact of the implemented intervention.
Abstract
With the support of BJA using Strategies for Policing Innovation1 (SPI) funds, the Boston Police Department engaged in a problem-oriented policing enterprise to understand the underlying nature of its homicide clearance problem, develop appropriate responses to enhance its investigations of homicide victimizations, and evaluate the impact of the implemented intervention.
