The Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA) of the Office of Justice Programs (OJP) invites applications for the FY 2024 National Community Courts Initiative. State governments; special district governments; city or township governments; county governments; other units of local government, such as towns, boroughs, parishes, villages, or other general purpose political subdivisions of a State; public housing authorities/Indian housing authorities; Native American tribal governments (Federally recognized); and public or private entities acting on behalf of a single treatment court through agreement with state, city, township, county, or tribal governments are eligible to apply. Successful applicants will receive funding to support efforts by state, local, and federally recognized American Indian tribal governments to establish and enhance community courts in their jurisdictions. BJA encourages applications from agencies that have not received BJA funding before and convening or governing bodies that can apply on behalf of one or more entities.
