This seventh of eight checklists for implementing an evidence-based criminal justice and mental health collaboration program provides guidance on implementing continuous quality improvement (CQI) processes.

Abstract

The checklist has eight components. The first component pertains to the identification of program areas that are not performing as well as expected. The second component of this checklist involves determining whether there is a neutral facilitator (either internal or external to program staff) who can conduct the CQI meetings. The third component consists of determining whether a CQI plan has been developed and implemented. The fourth component focuses on determining whether benchmarks for assessing progress on quality improvement have been regularly reviewed. The fifth component of the checklist determines whether options for improving implementation of the EBP have been identified. The fifth component determines whether there is a plan for reviewing any adjustments or refinements made in how the EBP is implemented. The sixth component determines whether there is a plan for reviewing any adjustments or refinements made to how the EBP is implemented. The checklist’s seventh component determines whether the team has identified what works well and what does not. The eighth component of this checklist focuses on whether the results of the CQI process are being shared among members of the implementation team and the interagency workgroup. For each of the eight components, suggestions are offered for implementing it. 7 annotated listings of resources
