Abstract

In this Justice Today episode, host Karen Friedman interviews Angel Sanchez and John Bae, two Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA) Visiting Fellows, who have studied as well as experienced community re-entry from incarceration. The episode is part of BJA’s observance of April as Second Chance Month by focusing attention on some of the barriers that incarcerated Americans must overcome to build successful, rewarding lives. Podcast guests Angel Sanchez and John Bae discuss their deep personal and professional commitment to breaking down those barriers through their service as Second Chance fellows at BJA. The BJA’s Visiting Fellows Program identifies accomplished professionals in the criminal justice field and offers them the experience of working on national policy issues at BJA. Throughout the episode, both men discuss their professional backgrounds and the work that has brought them to BJA.
