Abstract
This paper delves into the question of how best to maximize the resources of a public forensic laboratory, with an emphasis on the prosecutor's perspective. The first part explains how to create an executive level Customer Working Group and its benefits. The second part outlines various considerations for prioritizing the collection and testing of forensic evidence from a crime scene. Finally, the third part provides more detailed triage considerations for forensic evidence associated with crime guns and encourages data collection to further inform and improve the process.
