In 1962, President John F. Kennedy signed a proclamation which designated May 15 as Peace Officers Memorial Day and the week in which that date falls as Police Week. This year, National Police Week is May 11 through May 17, 2022. National Police Week is a time to support law enforcement communities and honor officers who have lost their lives in the line of duty.
