Letter from the Acting Director on the Use of JAG Funds to Combat Threats Against Election Workers

On January 26, 2022, Bureau of Justice Assistance Acting Director Kristen Mahoney sent a letter to State Administering Agency Directors regarding the versatility of Edward Byrne Justice Assistance Grant (JAG) Program funds.

In her letter, Acting Director Mahoney highlights the different areas for which JAG funds can be used and emphasizes how those funds can be used to detect and deter threats of violence against election workers, administrators, officials, and others associated with the electoral process as well as to protect them from those threats.
