The Bureau of Justice Assistance and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention leadership, in collaboration with the Comprehensive Opioid, Stimulant, and Substance Abuse Program (COSSAP) team at the Institute for Intergovernmental Research, invite you to a no-cost Learning Community for Rural Jurisdictions.
This eight-part series, taking place on the first Tuesday of each month from February 2023 to September 2023, will feature COSSAP training and technical assistance (TTA) provider and rural community partners/COSSAP grantees to demonstrate how COSSAP TTA providers can support rural jurisdictions and the innovative work made possible by rural partnerships. The COSSAP TTA program offers a variety of learning opportunities and assistance to support BJA COSSAP grantees and other local, tribal, and state stakeholders to build and sustain multidisciplinary criminal justice responses to illicit substance use and misuse.
Each Learning Community session will feature multiple rural jurisdictions to discuss their current projects and highlight lessons learned along the way, including how each community is addressing stigma within their work. The Learning Community will allocate time for open questions and discussion in order to foster learning and relationship building across rural jurisdictions.
The Learning Community for Rural Jurisdictions is free and open to any rural community partners that are interested in addressing substance use. Visit the Learning Community for Rural Jurisdictions Registration page to sign up and receive calendar invites for the sessions.
