President Donald J. Trump Signs an Executive Order Establishing the President’s Commission on Combating Drug Addiction and the Opioid Crisis
On March 29, 2017, President Donald J. Trump signed an Executive Order establishing the President’s Commission on Combating Drug Addiction and the Opioid Crisis to study ways to combat and treat the scourge of drug abuse, addiction, and the opioid crisis.

Coordinated Tribal Assistance Solicitation (CTAS)
BJA participates in DOJ's Coordinated Tribal Assistance Solicitation (CTAS) and suggests tribal jurisdictions consider applying for drug treatment funding under purpose area 3 of CTAS. For more information, please see the CTAS solicitation.

Tribes are still eligible to apply for funding under the BJA Adult Drug Court Discretionary Grant Program solicitation and the Joint Adult Drug Court solicitation to enhance coordination and treatment however the CTAS solicitation will better allow tribal drug court applications to be peer reviewed and rated against other tribal applicants in accordance with the tribal key components.
