Prosecutorial Diversion Programming Collaboration: Early Intervention through Reentry

This interactive webinar will focus on developing key strategies for diversion programs that target people with mental health conditions and/or substance use disorders who encounter the criminal justice system.

Attendees will learn directly from a Justice and Mental Health Collaboration Program Training and Technical Assistance grantee who partners with prosecutors in a crisis stabilization unit program. A representative from the Buncombe County (NC) Reentry program and the district attorney’s office will discuss key services and resources for their reentry program. These practitioners will also address the planning and implementation processes, from collaboration to data collection and sharing to funding and sustainability. Attendees will also have the opportunity to share experiences and expertise on utilizing diversion strategies to improve the health and quality-of-life outcomes for specialized program participants and their communities.
