Solano Veterans Treatment Court Enhancement Project 2023

The Superior Court of California, County of Solano seeks $920,007 of BJA Category 2 Enhancement funding to enhance its existing Veterans Treatment Court (VTC), established in 2014. Term is 48 months. Project activities include reducing disparities by creating an Advisory Board and outreach plan and deploying the NADCP Equity and Inclusion Toolkit; implementing evidence-based screening/assessment tools; employing a case manager; creating a hybrid pre-/post-plea model; offering recovery housing and Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT); training team members; and implementing an evaluation program. Expected outcomes are a target population that reflects the local criminal justice population; speedier identification and acceptance of participants; and greater client success and improved access to treatment and recovery services.
