Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2020, $1,428,571)
The purpose of Operation Relentless Pursuit (ORP) is to fund state and local law enforcement task forces in an effort to reduce violent crime. The objective of ORP is to combat violent crime by building federal cases against violent actors and their organizations. As such, applicants are required to work proactively with the U.S. Attorneys Office and other relevant federal investigative agencies to investigate and prosecute targets involved in gangs, drug trafficking and other violent crime related issues.
The City of Cleveland will combat violent crime by creating a task force compromised of local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies. Additionally, overtime will be paid to officers to do this work.
