Student, Teachers, and Officers Preventing (STOP) School Violence Program

This program seeks to improve school security by providing students and teachers with the tools and training they need to recognize, respond quickly to, and prevent acts of violence.

Office of Community Oriented Policing Services (COPS): School Violence Prevention Program (SVPP)

Authorized through the Students, Teachers, and Officers Preventing School Violence Act of 2018 (STOP School Violence Act of 2018), the COPS Office created SVPP to provide awards to improve security at schools and on school grounds in the jurisdiction of the grantee through evidence-based school safety programs.

STOP School Violence Funds Awarded

The Department of Justice has awarded more than $85.3 million to bolster school security and support first responders who arrive on the scene of a school shooting or other violent incident.
