The goal of this program is to support state and local governments in detecting and preventing the diversion and misuse of pharmaceutically controlled substances such as opioids and other prescription drugs.

This program provides student loan repayment assistance for local, state, and federal public defenders and local and state prosecutors who commit to extended service in those roles.

Through this opportunity, BJA, in coordination with the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention and the Office for Victims of Crime, seeks applications for funding to prevent and reduce violent crime in communities by supporting comprehensive, evidence-based violence intervention and prevention programs.

This funding is for discretionary grants to improve the functioning of the criminal justice system, to prevent or combat juvenile delinquency, and to assist victims of crime (other than compensation).

Only states may apply under this solicitation, and states must designate a single State Administering Agency that has authority to apply on their behalf.

Through this opportunity, the Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA) invites applicants who received an official request from BJA to apply for funding to continue work on a specific prior grant award.

The Bureau of Justice Assistance will award JAG Program funds to eligible units of local government as described in this solicitation.

This opportunity will fund the development and testing of a new or innovative approach to improving community safety and trust that is an alternative to traditional enforcement mechanisms for neighborhoods experiencing high rates of less serious and low-level criminal offenses.
