Prison Rape Elimination Act (PREA) Program

Under this solicitation, applications are requested to deliver and expand the provision of targeted training, technical assistance, information, and other support to stakeholders across the nation who are responsible for preventing, detecting, and responding to the sexual abuse and sexual harassment of persons who are confined, and achieving and maintaining compliance with the PREA standards.

This program provides funding for projects designed to prevent, detect, and respond to sexual abuse and sexual harassment in confinement facilities, and to achieve and maintain compliance with the Prison Rape Elimination Act (PREA) standards.

The goals of the PREA Program are to continue implementation of the national standards to prevent, detect, and respond to prison rape in order to protect individuals from sexual abuse and sexual harassment in confinement.
