National Police Week

In 1962, President John F. Kennedy signed a proclamation which designated May 15 as Peace Officers Memorial Day and the week in which that date falls as Police Week. National Police Week is a time to support law enforcement communities while honoring officers who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty.

BJA has partnered with the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP) to launch the National Consortium on Preventing Law Enforcement Suicide, a groundbreaking new initiative to raise awareness of the systemic barriers to mental health and prevent deaths by suicide among law enforcement officers. VALOR Program Promotes Officer Safety and Wellness
