This program provides support to state criminal justice agencies to partner with mental health agencies and other service agencies to reduce crime and recidivism associated with people with mental illness.

Under this initiative, BJA will select an applicant to establish a pilot project to develop a national training model on current rapid identification technology and scientifically sound field collection and testing methods that can be used when drugs are discovered in the field.

BJA is seeking applications for funding under this program to provide technology, resources, training, and technical assistance to Gulf State law enforcement agencies to increase information sharing on both a local and regional basis.

Through this opportunity, BJA is seeking applications to support Second Chance Act (SCA) grantees and reentry practitioners in the field to improve reentry and reduce recidivism.

Through this opportunity, BJA is seeking applications for funding to establish, expand, and improve treatment for people with substance use disorders during their incarceration and reentry into the community.

This program addresses the issue and impact of unsubmitted sexual assault kits (SAKs) at law enforcement agencies by improving: (1) state and local jurisdictions’ capacities to respond to violent crime and (2) the functioning of the criminal justice system through the investigation and prosecution of cases resulting from SAK evidence and the collection of lawfully owed DNA.

A Second Chance Act program, CAREERRS is designed to help communities establish education, vocation, and job training programs in their correctional systems that address employment challenges facing incarcerated youth and adults re-entering those communities and the workforce.
