Local Law Enforcement Crime Gun Intelligence Center Integration Initiative
Administered by BJA in partnership with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, this initiative provides funding to state, local, and tribal government entities that are experiencing precipitous increases in gun-related violent crime.
Community Courts Initiative
This initiative supports state, local, and federally recognized tribal governments to establish and enhance community courts, which are neighborhood-focused court programs that combine the power of the community and the justice system to address local problems.
Capital Case Litigation Training and Technical Assistance Initiative
This initiative provides support to prosecutors, defense counsel, and the judiciary on implementing improvements throughout the field of capital case litigation, while supporting litigators with the tools and resources to mitigate risk for error.
Law Enforcement and Community: Crisis Intervention Training Model Program
This training and technical assistance program delivers the crisis intervention training model, developed by the Bureau of Justice Assistance, to law enforcement agencies, along with a suite of resources and technical assistance.
National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers (NACDL)
BJA awarded funding to NACDL in 2015 to conduct national trainings, provide technical assistance and webinars, and expand online resource materials for lawyers who evaluate and litigate post-conviction innocence claims. Additional funding was provided in 2017 to conduct a new assessment of the current state of the URLPWC Program to inform BJA's advancement of its wrongful conviction prevention efforts.
National Correctional Industries Association (NCIA)
As part of the Training and Technical Assistance Project of the Private Sector/Prison Industry Enhancement Certification Program (PIECP) for the U.S. Department of Justice, NCIA conducts reviews of PIECP programs and cost accounting centers, compiles and publishes quarterly statistical reports, and provides technical support to PIECP certificate holders via an annual training webinar and online resources.
Crime Gun Intelligence Centers
A project of the National Resource and Technical Assistance Center for Improving Law Enforcement Investigations, this initiative supports local multidisciplinary teams in their efforts to prevent violent crime by identifying perpetrators, linking criminal activities, and identifying sources of crime guns for immediate disruption, investigation, and prosecution.
Body-Worn Camera (BWC) Training & Technical Assistance (TTA)
The goals of the BWC TTA program are to learn about the progress and activities regarding BWC implementation, identify opportunities for TTA, provide TTA in efficient and effective manners, and support the successful implementation of BWCs in different sites.
